She performed in the first national tour of In the Heights in the leading role of Vanessa. Lawson also took on the role of Mimi on Rent's national tour. Her other stage credits include Fame, Runaways, The Trip and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Onscreen, she has been seen in The Mentalist, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past and Tonite's the Nite.
